Terms & Conditions
Eligibility: Grants are open to U. S. Residents age 18 and over, who are "Teachers" in the Central Ramapo School District in NY State. For purposes of this contest, "Teachers" shall be defined as persons (including all class members) who are either currently employed as instructors in the Central Ramapo school district or adults over the age of 18 who will be organizing and/or leading an after-school program under the auspices of a school in the Central Ramapo School District. A class shall also be defined as a group of persons performing the same activity or sport. Determination of whether an applicant qualifies as an "Teacher" shall be under the supervision of the grant committee of the REACH Foundation of Rockland Inc. ("Reviewing Organization"), an non-independent Reviewing Organization, whose decisions shall be final in all matters relating to this application process. Members of The REACH Foundation of Rockland, Inc. ("Sponsor"), its professional affiliates, subsidiaries, persons living in the same household, and the families of each are eligible to participate but must disclose any such relationship on the grant application. By applying, all applicants consent to use of their name/likeness in all forms of media for marketing and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. By applying, applicant or class agrees to abide by and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. All applications submitted become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. If selected, grant recipient agrees to participate in scheduled public relations activities such as media interviews.
To qualify, applications, including the Statement of Purpose, must be submitted online or postmarked no later than end date stated on grant application. Only one application per individual or class per grant request period. Individual and class applications will be considered separately, but will be reviewed based on the same criteria. All applications become sponsor's property and will not be returned. REACH is not responsible for late, illegible, incomplete or misdirected applications. Grants are void where prohibited. No correspondence will be acknowledged.
Application Review: All application review will be under the supervision of the Reviewing Organization. Individual applications will be reviewed on criteria weighted as follows:
- How is this project innovative or creative? (15%)
- What is the educational value of this project? (25%)
- How are students involved or affected by this project? (20%)
- How does this project fulfill an unmet need? (20%)
- Are the resources purchased for this project reusable? (15%)
- To what degree does this project encourage volunteer service? (5%)
The grantees will be notified via e-mail. Grantees must sign and return any required Affidavit / Release of Liability and Publicity Consent form within 7 days of delivery of it. Non-compliance within this time period will result in disqualification and an alternate grantee may be selected. Any grantee notification returned to sponsor as undeliverable will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate grantee.
Affidavit: Should the applicant(s) be awarded with a grant, the individual or class grantee(s) acceptance of grant funds will bind the grantee to the Terms and Conditions described in the grant application. Acceptance of grant funds further authorizes the REACH to use the applicant's likeness, name, biography and essay for purposes of press releases and the website, and possibly other marketing material of the organization. The applicant also agrees to help coordinate getting school copies of parental consent forms regarding the students participating in the activity. All grant monies must be used within 18 months from the date awarded or monies will revert back to the REACH Foundation.
