Grants

Frequently Asked Questions

What are REACH Mini-Grants?
The Grants are one-time grants for classes or groups in the Ramapo Central School District whose teacher or leader is interested in organizing and overseeing a program designed to address academic areas beyond those normally offered in the existing curriculum or designed to have the students in their class interact with their community in a way that is of benefit to the student and to the community. The REACH Foundation of Rockland, Inc. will help provide financial support so that selected grantees can focus on expanding the academic and community horizons of their students.

Who is eligible?
Anyone who is a U.S. resident over the age of 18 can apply for a grant.

Can students apply for a grant?
Yes. Students who are leaders in a student body organization are now eligible to apply with the written consent of the supervisor of their organization. All members of the student organization must be students in the Ramapo Central School District.

What are Academic/Community Service Activities?
Academic/Community Service activities are both goal and process oriented. They are activities that in some way expose the students to new academic pursuits that are not ordinarily covered in the course of the current curriculum, are designed to impart leadership skills, are designed to educate the student on some relevant aspect of their community, or, are designed to teach and enable the student to perform a community service.
